Minute 078: A Scene with Neville Sinclair

August 09, 2017
MP3

Guest Host: Nancy O’Kane

Nancy O’Kane, better known in Internet circles as “The Captain”, is much more comfortable watching movies than talking about them. Nevertheless, she has succumbed to the charms of her husband and agreed to take part in the podcast. When she’s not talking about double-doored bathrooms and zipping formal gowns, she’s a full time student majoring in history and minoring in classics. She’s also busy being a caretaker to Rio, the most neurotic dog on the planet. Rio is afraid of thunder, lawnmowers, and plastic bags.

Summary

Neville glances at himself in his bedroom mirror. He smiles, then tries to pick something out of his front teeth with his fingernail.

“Neville?” calls Jenny from the next room. “Could you come in here, please?” Neville instantly opens the double doors to the room.

“Can you help me?” asks Jenny, motioning toward the zipper on the side of her gown. Neville reaches for the zipper, as Jenny quietly reaches for a nearby ceramic flower vase. Jenny cracks the vase over Neville’s head, and he slumps to the floor.

Jenny regards the scene. “I finally played a scene with Neville Sinclair.” She zips up her gown.

Shortly afterward, Jenny sneaks into the upstairs hallway of Neville’s mansion. She closes the bedroom door behind her, and hurries past a balcony view of the downstairs living room. She accidentally knocks over a candelabra on the railing, alerting Lothar, who is seated in a living room armchair, eating chicken. Jenny backs away from the railing, and finds a door to the secret room she had previously spotted, where Neville had a secret bookcase entryway.
