With Jenny held hostage, Neville Sinclair, Lothar, Eddie Valentine and his gang face off with The Rocketeer  in the plaza of the Griffith Park Observatory.

Cliff looks at Sinclair, and raises the ignition button on her gloved fist. His thumb hovers over the trigger. Sinclair glances at Secord’s  thumb.

“First,” says Secord, “you let her go.”

Neville glares at Cliff. Cliff glares back. Crickets chirp.

Sinclair places his hand on Jenny’s shoulder, moves her in front of him, then pulls out a Luger in his gloved fist.  He points the pistol at Jenny’s temple. Jenny gasps in shock.

Cliff seems surprised by the turn of events.

“The rocket, Secord,” says Sinclair.  Cliff continues to stare at Sinclair, and slowly moves the hand holding the ignition switch down to his side.

“C’mon, kid,” says Eddie. “Hand it over so we can all go home.”

Cliff swallows, and looks at Valentine. “What’s it like working for a Nazi, Eddie?” asks Secord. “Huh? Does he pay you in dollars or Deutschmarks?”

Valentine turns and looks at Sinclair. “What’s he talking about?” asks Valentine.

“Oh yeah,” says Cliff. “I got it straight from the Feds, Eddie. Nazi spy ring, flying commandos – – the works.”

Neville laughs. “Kid’s been flying where the air’s too thin!”

“Ask him about the secret room!” says Jenny. “Ask him about the Germans on the radio!”

Lothar reaches toward a pocket in his vest, but Mike turns a machine gun toward him. “Relax, Frankenstein,” says Mike. “You ain’t bulletproof.” Lothar glances around, nervously.

“Talk fast, Sinclair,” says Eddie, his hand seeming to grip a gun in his coat pocket.

“You tell him, Eddie!” says Cliff.

Eddie turns to Cliff. “Shut up!” he explains.

“Aw, come on, Eddie,” says Sinclair.
